Trade explained
Trading is fundamental in tactical shooters but the principle applies broadly: teammates occupy positions where they can punish the opponent who commits to a fight. Good trade spacing is close enough to act quickly and far enough to avoid the same grenade, angle, or ability.
“Swing after contact so the defender cannot escape before the trade.”
Why the term matters
Many players diagnose an opening death as an aim problem when the larger issue is that no teammate could see or reach the fight.
Use it correctly
When you hear Trade in a broadcast or team call, use the surrounding moment to understand it: who has information, which resources remain and what action comes next. The same word can sound slightly different across games, but a good call should still help a teammate decide.
Competitive language is most useful when it makes the next action clearer. Give the location, timing, or resource state needed to support the term. Avoid using shorthand as a substitute for a complete call when teammates need more information.
